Our new lights have been installed!
The Dulverton Trust gave us a grant to replace our lights in the main hall.
The old lights had started flickering and failing, tubes were expensive and cumbersome to replace because they were of an old standard, were wasteful in electricity consumption and gathered a lot of dust. The new lights are fixed LED lighting, fully enclosed (IP65), are safer, and provide more light for half the electricity, and should have longer life.
To ensure the project would be successful we contacted lighting vendors Thorn, ASD and Ansell, for design recommendations and samples, and performed a comparative study with fittings in situ. We selected the Ansell ASLED2X5 as having the nicest light distribution, while providing a similar level of light output and build quality as the runner-up (the Thorn AQUAFORCE II LED AQ6400Z). We worked closely with Kevin Wilson from local electrical contractors JA Collins during the product selection, and they subsequently installed the fittings. Pictured is the electric scissor lift from Anglia Access Platforms.
We are delighted with the result. The light levels have much improved, and feedback from the group leaders using the HQ has been very positive.
A huge thank-you to the Dulverton Trust for making this possible, and to Clive Rayner at the Norfolk Community Foundation his assistance with this application.
